Ø You’re kidding!
Ø Fancy that!
Ø I must say it surprises me.
Ø I find that hard to believe.
To Responding The Surprises :
v Yeah!
v It is.
v Yup!
v Sure.
v It’s true.
v I’m Serious.
v No. I’m not.
v Does it?
v It is, isn’t it?
The Examples:
Ayu : Whose motorcycle is that?
Nisa : It’s Redha’s
Ayu : Are you kidding me?
Nisa : No, I’m not.
I saw her riding that motorcycle this morning.
Ayu : What a surprise!
Tiwy : How can you say that?
Dewi : Well, that’s the fact.
To Express Disbelief
ü I don’t believe it.
ü It can’t be true.
ü I can’t think of it.
ü I don’t trust you.
ü I don’t believe you.
ü I can’t believe this!
ü I didn’t know that.
The Examples:
Harli : Do you still remember the girl we met yesterday?
Duan : Yes.
Harli : I can’t believe my eyes when I saw her selling fried bananas this morning.
Duan : Fried bananas?
Harli : Yes. She looked grievous.
Duan : I don’t believe you. You must be dreaming.
Nia : I can’t believe it!
Sa’adah : That’s true.
